OUR STORY

The Northeast Ohio Community Resilience Centre (NEOCRC) was established in 2011 and is a non-profit 501(c) (3). The NEOBHC is the first organization in the State of Ohio dedicated to addressing disparities in the black community. 
 
Our vision is to achieve parity in the African American community. 

OUR STRENGTH

NEOCRC’s strength is in our ability to work across multiple sectors using unified approaches regarding education, advocacy and empowerment utilizing partnerships to specifically meet the unique needs of African Americans in Northeast Ohio.

Founding the Northeast Ohio Community Resilience Centre

Northeast Ohio Community Resilience Centre (NEOCRC) has been standing in the gap for African American communities with an unwavering commitment to justice-informed public health.

We are the first organization in Ohio solely dedicated to addressing gaps in health, housing, and environmental outcomes among African American communities. Since 2011, NEOCRC has transformed from a grassroots collective into a leading voice for justice-informed public health in Northeast Ohio.

We’ve:
    •    Distributed PPE and food to thousands during COVID
    •    Trained residents in CPR and lead-safe practices
    •    Helped pass Cleveland’s lead-safe housing law
    •    Elevated men’s health, senior care, and safe streets
    •    Spearheaded green infrastructure and resilience projects in underserved neighborhoods
    •    Distributed air purifiers in nine Northeast Ohio counties
    •    Distributed 100 Brita Water Pitchers to at-risk low-income households with children
